GM will back up your H1 purchase with a basic 3 year/36,000 mile warranty and a special 3 year/36,000 mile warranty specifically to protect the H1's drivetrain.

In addition, the H1's aluminum body is warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

GM will back your new H2 purchase with a New Vehicle Bumper-to-Bumper Limited Warranty. The entire vehicle is warranted for repairs, including parts and labor to correct problems in materials or workmanship for 3 years or 36,000 miles. The warranty covers towing to the nearest GM dealership, and there is no deductible for covered repairs during the warranty period.

The H2 is also warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first.

Officially Licensed Accessories

All GM Official Licensed Products purchased from and/or installed by your GM dealer are covered under the individual accessory manufacturers' warranties, they are not warranted by General Motors or its dealers. should any such GM Licensed Product require service, please contact the GM Licensed Product manufacturer identified on the product or its accompanying documentation. If the manufacturer is not so identified, contact your GM dealer to obtain the necessary information.

*Note that those GM accessories installed after vehicle delivery will carry the balance of the new remaining warranty.

Q: Can I take my HUMMER to any GM dealer not dualed with a HUMMER dealer for warranty repairs?
A: Yes. Repairs are covered under warranty ONLY when performed by an authorized HUMMER dealer. It's in your best interest to take your HUMMER car or truck to a HUMMER dealer for all repairs, because they're the most knowledgeable about the particulars of your vehicle. Some GM dealers are paired with a HUMMER dealer at the same location or at a nearby one. Be sure to ask the repair service representative if his or her shop is authorized to perform HUMMER warranty repairs.

Q: When can I place an order for next year's model?
A: Ask your local HUMMER dealer for specifics about the model you're interested in. He or she will be glad to tell you a schedule.

Q: What type of oil should I use in my HUMMER vehicle?

Q: What does the warranty cover?
A: The warranty covers vehicles registered in the U.S. and Canada from the date the vehicle is first delivered until it reaches 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever occurs first). It covers the vehicle from bumper to bumper on any vehicle defect related to materials or workmanship. For further details, look in the owner's manual under "What is Covered" and "What is Not Covered."

Q: Will any HUMMER dealer honor my warranty even if I did not purchase my vehicle from them?
A: Yes, any HUMMER dealer will honor your warranty.

Q: What is included in Roadside Assistance?
A: Roadside Assistance provides these services at no charge:
Flat-tire change (customer is responsible for the repair of the tire)
Fuel delivery (up to $4 worth of fuel)

SAFETY

Q: What makes an air bag inflate?
A: In a frontal or near-frontal impact of sufficient severity, the air bag sensing system detects that the vehicle is suddenly stopping as a result of a crash. The sensing system triggers a chemical reaction of the sodium azide sealed in the inflator. This reaction produces nitrogen gas, which inflates the air bag. The inflator, air bag and related hardware are all part of the air bag module packed inside the steering wheel.

Q: When should an air bag inflate?
A: The air bag is designed to inflate in moderate to severe frontal or near-frontal crashes. The air bag will inflate only if the impact speed is above the system's designed "threshold level." If your vehicle goes straight into a wall that doesn't move or deform, the threshold level is about 14 to 18 mph (23 to 29 km/h). The threshold level can vary, however, with specific vehicle design, so that it can be somewhat above or below this range. If your vehicle strikes something that will move or deform, such as a parked car, the threshold level will be higher. Inflation is determined by the angle of the impact and the vehicle's deceleration.

Q: Will a side or rear impact or rollover cause the air bag to deploy?
A: No, the air bag is designed to deploy in the event of a front or front-corner impact of sufficient severity. Inflation of the air bag during a rollover, side, or rear impact would not help the occupant.

Q: Is it still necessary to wear a safety belt with the Supplemental Inflatable Restraint system?
A: Yes! The air bag supplements the protection provided by the shoulder belts. Remember, the air bag is designed to inflate in moderate-to-severe frontal and near-frontal crashes. Safety belts can provide protection in impacts other than frontal and near-frontal collisions.
