By Volvo® Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program
Volvo is committed to caring for your car
and your peace of mind. To further enhance your ownership experience,
we have introduced the Care By Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program.
This maintenance program is designed to complement your Volvo warranty
and will help to ensure trouble-free operation of your Volvo vehicle.
The Care By Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance
Program, provided on all new 2004 model year Volvo vehicles sold in the
U.S., offers:
- Scheduled maintenance coverage for
three years or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first.
- The regularly scheduled maintenance
services at 7,500, 15,000, 22,500 and 30,000 mileage intervals.
In addition to the normal service and inspection
items listed below, the Care By Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program
includes a diagnostic check of passive and active safety systems. Also
included in your scheduled maintenance service is a systems check of the
onboard computer monitoring functions.
These regularly scheduled maintenance service
checks performed by your authorized Volvo Retailer will help ensure trouble-free
operation of your Volvo.

FIRST
SERVICE: 7,500 Miles
- Check onboard diagnostic
system
- Engine oil and filter
replacement
- Reset Service Reminder
Indicator (SRI)
- Check/adjust engine
coolant, power steering and washer fluid levels
- Check all wiper blades
- Check brake fluid level
- Check brake pads
- Check tire pressure,
wear and condition
- Rotate tires

SECOND
SERVICE: 15,000 Miles
- Check onboard diagnostic
system
- Engine oil and filter replacement
- Reset Service Reminder Indicator
(SRI)
- Check/adjust engine coolant,
power steering and washer fluid levels
- Check battery fluid level,
charge and mounting
- Visual inspection of bevel
gear (all wheel drive models only)
- Check exterior lighting
and controls
- Clean/lubricate power antenna
(S40 and C70 Convertible models only)
- Replace cabin air filter
- Lubricate hinges, latches
and sliding parts on doors, hood, trunk and sunroof
- Check/adjust parking brake
- Check all wiper blades
- Check brake fluid level
- Check brake pads
- Check tire pressure, wear
and condition

SERVICE: 22,500 Miles

The
Care By Volvo Factory Scheduled Maintenance Program is honored at any
authorized Volvo Retailer in the United States. Coverage begins with the
date the vehicle is delivered to the original purchaser or the original
lessee, or on the date the vehicle is placed in service as a "demonstrator"
or "company car." This program is associated with the vehicle
and cannot be transferred to another vehicle. The Care By Volvo Factory
Scheduled Maintenance Program is transferred automatically to subsequent
owners of the vehicle within the program period.
Each recommended service should be performed
within 1,500 miles of the normal service interval listed in the Volvo
Warranty and Service Records Information booklet. Service intervals missed
by the owner will not be performed. An authorized Volvo Retailer will
perform the service that is appropriate for the mileage or age of the
vehicle. Volvo recommends that you bring your vehicle in for service at
least once a year regardless of mileage.
Items Not Covered:
- Wear items outlined in the Volvo Warranty
and Service Records Information booklet
- Damage to the vehicle resulting from
normal wear and tear or abuse
- Vehicles severely damaged and/or declared
to be a total loss by an insurer
- Severe operating conditions requiring
additional services
- Customer requested services or Volvo
Retailer suggested services not specified in the Volvo Warranty and
Service Records Information booklet
